Manuka & Pohutukawa

Happy Term 2 friends and family of Flanshaw!

My name is Deanna Wang and I am the kaiako in Manuka.

I can't wait to catch up with all of you!

I am relishing these sunny moments this Autumn and travelled around a few cities around the North Island with my in-laws, who are visiting for a few months.

This term Manuka and Pohutukawa are continuing to use one big learning space. I thought it went very well last term: The children loved the range of activities and Manuka thinks it's so cool to have two teachers don't we?

Don't forget to look out for the class newsletter, which shares information about what we are learning this term and important dates.

More about me

You can learn more about me in my mihi here.

As some of you may know, I am New Zealand-born with whanau from China, Kiribati, England and Malaysia. Hence why I love cultures so much and would love to learn more about my cultures - but I need your help!

I am beginning with the Chinese culture, and have met most of the Chinese families at Flanshaw. They have taught me about the language, food and traditions. We have also shared this important knowledge with all children at Flanshaw.

if you are Chinese and we have not yet met, please come and say hello sometime. You can join our Chinese Families WeChat group (QR code below). This is for all Flanshaw children, not just Manuka.

Please let me know if you would like to contribute your skills.
