Enrolment Office is open for thesefrom 18th January 2010
Enrolment of a student is usually preceded by a discussion involving the principal, the parents and the new student. During this discussion, details such as address, phone number, emergency contacts and specific health matters, particularly allergies or asthma will be noted. In addition to this it is helpful for parents to share information about their child's interests, skills and talents. If the new student is a New Entrant, parents should bring proof of age, eg. Birth Certificate.
The Ministry of Health also requires information on immunisation. Please bring your child’s immunisation certificate to the enrolment interview.
Parents are invited to enrol their child at any time. The optimum time would be six weeks prior to their 5th birthday as this enables new entrants to benefit from an opportunity to enjoy the school’s pre-entry programme. The programme involves three morning visits to the school where the children learn some of the routines, meet their teacher and become familiar with the school surroundings.
If children are enrolled in the Flanshaw Early Childhood Centre they should already be familiar with the school because of the transition strategies the Flanshaw Centre and the Flanshaw Road Junior School have developed to ensure students a good start to their school careers.
NB Flanshaw Road School has no school zone at this time. |
