MISSION STATEMENT
To provide opportunities for all children to
develop to their potential holistically – wellbeing, belonging, communication, contribution and exploration.
(Te Whaariki – The Early Childhood Curriculum)
PHILOSOPHY
Our centre caters for children in our local community, children with special needs and children who are gifted and talented. We offer quality care and education in a warm, supportive learning environment, where family values are accepted and respected.
We value our partnership with parents and whanau. We are committed to open communication and feedback. We recognize that we have much to learn from each other.
Our programme is based on the early childhood curriculum – Te Whaariki, which recognizes the holistic nature in which children grow and learn. We build on children’s abilities and interests by providing activities and learning opportunities that are both challenging and achievable.
We believe that when children are given respect and the opportunity to develop, they will become confident, competent learners and communicators.
We have a close relationship with Flanshaw Road School and continue to strengthen links through transition to school programmes, curriculum initiatives and positive ongoing relationships with staff.
